SERVICES FOR HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS
Healthcare institutions of all sizes face the challenge of delivering high-quality patient services that adhere to prevalent standards and meet societal expectation, whilst assuring their competitiveness. Failing to meet this challenge can prove exceedingly costly for financial backers, and risks jeopardizing the longevity of the investment and the scope of patient services that the institution is able to offer.
Here at Al Sorat Consulting Services LLC, we understand that a realistic and granular understanding of the local operating environment, contextualized relative to emergent global trends, is a key success factor when evaluating cost or process optimization or when assessing and selecting the appropriate investment and growth strategy to retain or expand market share. Our intimate knowledge of how clinical teams work, combined with a wealth of experience at high-caliber healthcare institutions in Canada, the USA and the Gulf, gives our company a unique edge in developing bespoke healthcare solutions capable of balancing the delicate task of prioritizing excellence in patient services, with the re-organization of workflows to improve productivity and therefore, the competitiveness and sustainability of services offered.
Change management remains a major challenge facing healthcare institutions of all sizes around the world. Our ability to provide local context, bespoke data-driven assessments, and analysis at a global standard, gives us an edge over healthcare consulting companies who employ non-physicians to make recommendations and support the implementation of such change-management initiatives. Lack of familiarity with the delicate requirements, processes, and interlinked workflows across a complex healthcare system by non-specialised change management experts typically requires extended (and usually costly) consultations with healthcare professionals in the target institution, whose time is already in high demand.
At Al Sorat Consulting Services LLC, we understand that the functioning of healthcare institutions is contingent on the value added by its healthcare providers and the importance of optimising their capacity to serve patients. We also recognise that sustainable high-quality service provision is contingent on an institution’s ability to operate as a well-integrated system, capable of enacting change at every point of contact with the patient.
Our unique combined expertise and skillsets means that we can work efficiently with all stakeholders in a healthcare institution and leave a minimal footprint on their valuable time. Our ‘all-source’ data collection approach, data analysis capabilities and in-depth knowledge of complex healthcare systems allows us to maximise insights from novel existing data sources, bespoke targeted data collection initiatives, and from all interactions with institutional stakeholders.

Educational and training services
Faculty Development
Dr Sora Al Rowas is certified to teach the Stanford Faculty Development Series. This is an elite faculty development curriculum whose founders retired in 2019. Only those who have completed the month-long intensive training at Stanford University are certified to offer it. It helps faculty in clinical teaching settings develop the skills for life long personal growth and creates a common language for the institution to improve the educational experience of junior doctors. Indirect benefits of this course include improvement in the quality of patient care because of better collaboration within physician teams.
Keeping up with Evidence Based Medicine Skills
In this series physicians are empowered to independently assess clinical research and make good decisions about relevance to a patient population. Physicians are also taught how to phrase clinical trial data in plain words. Techniques to keep up with relevant information in a time-efficient manner are also covered together with interpreting the avalanche of clinical data that is created annually. Studies show that most physicians struggle to remain up to date and this series also covers simple methods to incorporate continuing medical education into the routine of clinical practice.
Reliance on pharmaceutical company-sponsored conferences is a prevalent practice in the Gulf but it creates a biased and narrow perspective. This course empowers physicians to independently assess data they are presented with and develop the skills to apply it to their patient population. This series can be adapted to the institution’s requirements, and delivered in lecture format or a single 3-hour workshop that gives a thorough introduction to evidence-based medicine in practice.
Patient experience awareness for staff
Patient experience is a broad metric that is impacted by organizational systems, culture and outcomes. This acculturation workshop primes staff to think about health care in a patient-centered way and helps them develop a common language to discuss improvements to patient experience metrics.
Educational material for patients
Most accreditation bodies evaluate whether an institution provides patient education materials. Our company can help create tailored organization specific patient education materials for common diagnoses in both Arabic and English. This can help with patient retention and successful follow up, leading to better patient outcomes.
Leadership training
This can be offered in various formats (workshop series, lecture series, virtual seminar), or in a one on one or group setting.
Topics: Organizational culture awareness; skills evaluation; feedback and communication skills; promoting personal and professional growth; conflict resolution; benchmarking and performance assessment; using organizational data effectively to empower decision-making and planning.
